Update – Connected realms no longer matter with the war within. Aside from a couple of things, everything is completely joined no matter the realm. There are only 2 things that remain limited to connected realms, that is crafting work orders and the auction house (even then only part of the auction house is limited to the connected realms mostly consisting of gear and gathering resources) with the future of the war within even those will be seamlessly joined by the end of the expansion, so don’t stress over realm choice!!
